Lattitude is thrilled to announce that we have a new pilot volunteer program in the Lake Atitlan region of Guatemala starting in January 2020! Volunteers will contribute to important community development work in areas such as inclusive education, permaculture and organic farming, fair trade and economic equality, sustainable nutrition, and environmental conservation. All hugely interesting and rewarding projects.
Respected as valued team members, volunteers serve essential roles within the organizations. They are immersed in cultural exchange, Spanish language development, and community action that directly supports a stronger future for Guatemala.
Lake Atitlan, located in the Guatemalan highlands known as the Land of Eternal Spring and surrounded by five dormant volcanoes, has been called one of the most beautiful lakes in the world by National Geographic. Juxtaposed with the natural wonder of Atitlan are the colourful Mayan villages that dot the lake, each with its own unique character.
